HALF MARATHON

Race Start Location - Mable House Cultural Arts Center - 5239 Floyd Road Race numbers will not be mailed - You may pick up numbers & register for the race at the Mable House Cultural Arts Center from 4:00 to 7:30 on Friday October 24th. Registration is also available in store at both locations of the Big Peach Running Co. Number pick-up begins at 6:00a.m. on race day at the Mable House Cultural Arts Center. Race Course: Starts at the mable House Cultural Arts Center & Amphitheatre - (.6 / 10ths of a mile South of kroger on Floyd Road) Turns North (right) on Floyd Road for 1.5 miles Before Turning West onto the Silver Comet Trail at the Silver Comet Bike Depot. Out & Back 5.75 miles on the silver Comet trail with the finish line celebration at the Silver Comet Bike Depot. this is a flat & fast course! Walkers are welcome to participate cct Buses will shuttle all participants back to parking at the mable house cultural arts center. Please do not litter the trail. use the trashcans provided at water stops for any gel packets, cups, etc. PARKING: Official parking for race participants is available at the Mable House Art Center. Parking isn’t authorized anywhere else, so if you choose to park elsewhere, please note any posted parking restrictions & stay away from local store fronts or you could be towed. If you park at the Middle School, (or elsewhere) you must walk to the start. Buses will take all fun run participants & spectators (family, friends) to the Silver Comet Depot / finish line area after the start of the Half Marathon. ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING IS ALLOWED AT THE SILVER COMET DEPOT TRAIL HEAD!!!!! Cars will be towed IF POSTED PARKING RESTRICTIONS ARE VIOLATED!!!!. DO NOT PARK AT THE POST OFFICE OR LIBRARY 8 Water stops are on the course - Powerade provided at ONLY at the 3RD / 6TH water stop. There will be 2 "Pit Stop" units near the turn around only. These are the only facilities on the course at the Industry Road Intersection. TIMING: Official timing stops at 3 hours 30 minutes. All participants should be able to complete 17 minute miles. AWARDS : Pre-registered participants receive a long-sleeve, heavy cotton, t-shirt -Choose from available colors. NO COLORS GUARANTEED!! All half marathon finishers receive a CUSTOM finishers medal. Awards presented to top 3 overall & masters M/F winners & top 3 in age groups from 14 & under to 70 & older. Results will be posted on this web site & at www.active.com. Awards not picked up will not be mailed, you may however arrange to pick them up from me. Results cards will be mailed in January (in prep for next race!). The Finish Line: The Finish Line Celebration will be in the lower parking at the Silver Comet Depot Trail Head. All pre-registered half marathon participants will receive a finisher medal & long sleeve race t-shirt. We will have Fontis Water, Ted's Montana Grill, Bagels, Apples & Bananas. Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Plaques are given to the top three male & female finishers in five-year age categories. Awards not picked up will not be mailed.
